Rural Silos

When it comes to silos, DE stands out as a manufacturer of the strongest and longer-lasting silos in the industry. In fact, we are proud to manufacture the largest transportable silos in Australia. Here are the reasons why you should choose DE for your silo needs:

Vented Silo Lids: Our patented vented silo lids are a standard feature in our silos. These lids are designed to keep your grain cool and dry, preserving its quality and preventing spoilage.. NB/- DE and GRDC recommend silos should only be sealed for the fumigation period then left unsealed to allow air movement. Silos from 3-86 tonne

Unlike riveted cones, our base cone sheets are fully welded, ensuring they will not split open. This guarantees the integrity and longevity of your silo.
Silo bases are constructed using longer-lasting hot-dipped galvanized square or round tube, offering superior corrosion resistance compared to Duragal-coated options. Our galvanized tubes have 2-3 times the zinc coating of other silos, ensuring extended durability.

Stronger silo bodies

Not only can we boast the longest lasting silos made from more corrosive resistant material but we also use the thickest and strongest wall sheeting in the industry.

Spiral silos from 109-152 tonne

Silo Group.jpg

Our 152 tonne spiral silos have revolutionised grain storage in WA by being the largest fully sealed transportable grain silos in Australia. These larger capacity silos have bases made from hot dimmed Zinc plated square tube.

NB/- Small marks or scratches on the sides of the spiral silos can occur because they have to be lifted by crane and slewed into position. These scratches are only cosmetic and do not affect the silos strength. The same profile is used in our 260t silos.

Sealable and aeratable larger silos

Silo and Roof.jpg

Many customers who have previously used rows of 76 tonne silos are now using larger silos, saving time and money. The biggest advantage in using the larger silos being: three 50 tonne road train loads can go in or out of the silo before the auger needs to be moved, greatly reducing handling.

Extra long silo trailers

transport.jpg

DE's extra long’ silo trailers can transport 2 x 105 cubic metre silos at a time making them the most cost effective silos for grain storage. Built ‘Extra Long’ to accomodate the taller base and roof angles used on our silos which allow better grain flow and more storage. ie: our 2530 bushel silo has more capacity than our competitors 2700 or 2800 bushel (or model) silos, so always check the cubic volume.

Customise your silo

Base.jpg

DE silos can be customised to suit farmers requirements. Silos can be built with wider openings for large auger hoppers, higher outlets and we can also raise the height of the outlet opening handle with a universal joint to stop sheep from spilling grain. Some customers have specific requirements as per the placements of ladders and openings and as these may have changed over the years please check our standard layouts (Silo Footing Specs / Parts).

Our latest silo innovations:

Innovation is what DE is renowned for. Even our safety cages are unique, being made in one piece for extra strength to reduce flexing and can be split down the middle and laid flat for transport.

Vented Silo Lids (Pat Pending)

Lids.jpg

Soon to be on all grain silos, our newest invention is the sprung ‘Vented Silo Lids’ (Pat Pending) which will take some of the worry out of storing grain. The vented silo lid allows hot and sometimes moist air to escape through the silo roof and can be clamped shut while fumigating.
NB/- DE and GRDC recommend silos should only be sealed for the fumigation period then left unsealed to allow air movement.

Plastic Hoppers

Hopper.jpg

We now have longer silo hoppers (1200mm long) available to reduce forward spillage on larger augers. They are light, easy to use, won’t rust and strap on to your mobile auger so there is no need to climb under silos when out-loading. Please let us know which size hopper you prefer and how many you require.

Rural Silo Range

Please note: DE use actual bushel capacities when calculating silo volumes. ie: 1 Bushel=0.036m3
